Tiny planes, Tigers and Sasquatch sticks. O My

This past weekend was one of the best weekends that I have had in a really long time.  I went to homecoming at LSU…WHAT?!?!?!  My weekend started very early on Thursday with 3 gate changes at O’Hare.  I was already super stressed that I was going to miss my flight and then I got to the wrong gate and had to go back to the correct gate that I passed so thanks for that ORD.  It’s all good though because I made it and had a pretty easy and pretty flight into Houston which is a pretty nice airport.  The worst part of the whole trip was the stupid shuttle planes you have to take from Houston to Lafayette and back.  I literally thought we were going to crash if anyone moved.  I wanted to slap the flight attendant when she walked by with water.  I was like really it’s an hour flight screw these people and their dry throats.  Then me being me, I downed a whole bottle of Fiji and a cup of grapefruit juice at the airport I had to pee and because there was no way in Hell I was going to get up and walk to the bathroom I decided to hold it. The pressure was so bad that I had to unbuckle my seatbelt and it was unbuckled when we landed which wasn’t that bad actually. It was so good to finally see my babies!!! I missed them terrible and even though the last time I saw them was just July it felt like a million years because they have grown up so much.  Leah is killing it in school, Bradlee is a brand new child and Emma is moving and grooving to the beat of her own drum (lol).  I wish I would have been able to spend more time with them and maybe spend a whole day with each of them individually because it is hard to focus on one when each of them was trying to get their time with me in the few short days I was there.  It was also nice to spend time with my sister even though she makes me crazy she is the one person that knows me more than I know myself and I can be crazy with her and speak my mind and do the utmost stupid crazy things and she is usually not too far behind with her own insanity.  For example, we had all these amazing plans to go to Baton Rouge Friday night and party it up and go to a concert and we got new outfits and did our makeup and hair and were so pumped!!!! We ended up pigging out at the Waffle House by our hotel and then going to the gas station for a bottle of Boone’s Farm, a bag of Funyuns and a couple Sasquatch sticks (aka Slim Jim’s).  We watched TV ate our snacks and went to bed and I was ok with that.  We had fun, joked around and got stalked by a creepy Hispanic man that watched which room we went into causing me to barricade the door to our room with my suitcase haha.  Saturday was a very loooooooooong day but it was fun despite being given the run around about where the parade was and there was a lot of walking in very inappropriate shoes (my fault and I’m still paying for it lbvvvvs).  We were at the ESPN Game Day show in the morning and then watched the coach and team go into the locker room and then there was the game.  I couldn’t have asked for a better game. It was intense and stressful and they won so it was everything I hoped my first experience at LSU would be.  The campus is amazing and huge and I swear I could just hang out there all day under the beautiful trees. I really wish I would have had my shit together when I was younger and knew what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go to college because I would to have loved to have gone there. I was neither rich enough to afford it or smart enough for a scholarship. O well it is what it is I guess.  Sunday went by way too fast for my liking and it made me sad and talk about stressful.  Thursday flying down went off without a hitch and Sunday was the exact opposite.  First I went to check in on my phone to be told that my flight from Houston to Chicago had been cancelled because of maintenance and I was on a later flight but it messed up my boarding passes and I had a horrible time trying to get new ones to save to my phone.  I finally get all that worked out only to be told in Lafayette the plane to Houston was overbooked so they were looking for people to stay back which I was all for until they informed me that I would miss my plane to Chicago and I offered to reschedule until Monday and just cut my losses but couldn’t afford to miss another day of work which stunk. I also was CONVINCED the shuttle plane was going to crash taking off from Lafayette. It was making a weird noise and kind of jerking violently and the pilot stayed really low for longer than I thought he should have so I was getting very nervous but all is well (obviously because I wouldn’t be typing this if it wasn’t).  The flight from Houston to Chicago was very crowded but it was good because with so many people on board there were a lot of conversation going on and people getting along and being friendly and I sat next to two very nice ladies that made being stuck in the middle seat not so bad (I hated it).  I liked this trip better than the last time I was there because even though I was only there for a couple days it wasn’t as rushed and I didn’t have to cram 1000 things into 2 days.  I got to see more of the city (courtesy of both mine and Amy’s phone GPS being stupid) and it just made me like it even more than I already did.  I don’t know, now, if a move will be in the cards for us for a while but I do know that I plan to get myself in a situation where I am able to visit a lot. I can’t wait for the next time I’m back in the south. The only place where Geaux Tigers is an appropriate and completely normal greeting

Until next time

Hugs, Kisses and Bestest wishes
