I made this the same day as I made the felt rose. I'm planning on making as much as I can for the ceremony and reception and these will be perfect. I can color them however I want and since they are super fluffy we won't have to make a ton.
What you need:
Coffee filters (you can use any size because if you want to make them smaller, which I did, you can just cut them)
Water color paint in any colors you want
I folded the coffee filters like I was going to make a snowflake and then at the open end I cut a curve so when I unfolded the filter I had something that looked like petals. I did a bunch and then when I wanted to make the smaller petals I cut some of the excess off and then went ahead with the curve cutting. I took a piece of wire and made a small loop in one end (it's thing gauge because that's just what I had but for bouquets and what not you'll need a floral wire) and made a loop in it and stuck it through the center of a filter and pinched it up around the loop and twisted it a couple times. I repeated this with 4 filters and then I took some of the wire and wrapped it around where it's pinched just to hold it together. I then added 3 larger filters the same way and finished the same way. The thing that took the longest to do was cut the filters but once you get a bunch cut you can just whip these babies out in no time. If you want to color them you need to lay the filters out and super wet a brush and dip it in the water color. This can be done before or after cutting. The wetter the brush the better the color will soak into the filter and give it a lighter more realistic look. Go crazy but make sure you lay them flat and let them dry completely before you put the flowers together.
Tomorrow I will post the T shirt rose
Till next time
