OMG another weekend gone too fast. It was spent cleaning and being irritated at my crappy car that has broken down yet again. This time we can't figure out exactly what is wrong with it but hopefully it's the starter or we wasted money buying a new one... In the middle of all that bologna we still managed to squeeze in an early Valentine's Day dinner date (I saw another shooting star Saturday night-the second of my whole life) and some crafting. One of the things I made was a felt rose. It kind of happened by accident while I was trying to figure out something to do with the felt hearts I cut out for no reason. I was going to try to make a rose like the t-shirt rose I made (I'll post that one Wednesday) but as I was mushing them together it all the sudden dawned on me that if I roll them up and around each other the humps of the heart would look like petals and that was 100 times easier than trying to mush them up like I did with the other thing. In order to hold it together I just sewed it every so often and then wrapped the thread around and finished it off by putting a few stitches through. I didn't have anything to make a stem so that's where I stopped but it can't be that hard to attach a floral wire stem and some floral tape to finish it off. You could even go as far as to make some felt leaves which I just might do tonight just to see how it works out. Clearly you aren't limited to red becasue there are a lot of different colors of felt and this is super duper easy and they look really cute.
