Day two of the new year and I think it's time to recap the year that was Twenty10. It was a year of highs, lows, and everything in between. It was a year of new friends and reconnecting with old. Lessons learned and experiences gained. I'm sad to see it go because so much of it was awesome but there are some things I can't wait to put behind me and move on. I don't know where to start so I'm just going to start from the beginning.
The year started out pretty rough with my grandparents' health. It was pretty touch and go with my grandpa and we were all ready to let him go but it wasn't his time and we owe our thanks to God for that. It was a long tough year for him but I think he's finally going to be ok for a while and we can handle that. In the middle of all the comotion of him being sick my granny got sick too. She still gets tired easily but she's a tough little lady and she's hanging in there. When I think of all they have been through, not only this year but in their lifetimes, it makes me thankful that I come from such strong people. I know that as long as I have their blood running through my veins I can tackle whatever life throws my way.
We also were all on high alert with Angie being pregnant. She had a little bit of a tough time but it was all worth it when on March 20th one of the most beautiful baby boys I ever laid eyes on joined our family. He is growing up so fast and at times it's sad that it seems like just yesterday my brother was his age and now he's a grown man and has a family of his own but other times it's so fun. I love everytime he looks at something like it's the most amazing thing he's ever seen. I love how he's gone from a tiny baby to now he's up and crawling and getting ready to walk. He's going to be learning how to talk soon and I can only imagine the silly, sweet heart warming things that are going to come out of that silly little boy. He's so much like my brother and I know that there was never a dull moment when he was growing up, shoot he's still a goofus.
I got an opportunity to reconnect with some friends that I had missed. We parted ways and have all had time to grow up, mature (some what lol), and now we are all in a place that we can really enjoy and appreciate our friendship. We don't see each other as much as we used to since we all live in different towns-states even-but we talk all the time and when we do all have time to get together it's always a good time.
The summer was a blur and went by waaaay too fast. We saw some racin and Sarah got to go to the Yankee for the first time and had a blast. That was a really fun weekend and we're looking foward to it again this year. We also went to Springfield and did some fun stuff and as of now we're talking about taking Leah to the state fair next year. That should be interesting but fun.
We also had some issues with my sister's pregnancy and thought that baby Chubbums was never going to come but he did and OMG what an awesome baby. He's just so fun and funny. I love to snuggle him and he makes the most awesome faces and his laugh is hilarious. He's going to be just like his sister minus the brattiness, hopefully.
I started college finally and what a flippin pain. I just have to keep telling myself that it's all going to be worth and it better be or someone is going to get hurt. I tried to do all my classes online for this semester and that didn't go really well so I guess it's hi ho hi ho off to the campus I go lol. It's going to suck to be stuck there every night until the beginning of summer and then I'm a dork wad and took summer classes but I think in all reality it's going to be easier because I can get help if I need it and I can turn my phone off and be focused on school. No one can bother me there and I will be around people that are doing the same thing so it will be easier to get something accomplished.
The holidays were fun but super busy. We have to figure out a way to get some kind of schedule worked out or something because this year kicked my ass, big time. All the back and forth is hard and usually it's ok but with everything that is going on it just made it that much more tiring and I don't see it slowing down any time soon. I know this is supposed to a "recap" of the year but I'm going to throw my Christmas/New Year in with because I sort of did it backward, oops. Christmas eve with the DuncanWilsonMcCoy family was nothing short of the awesomenss that it always is. We drank, we laughed, we ate, we played games and had an amazing time. I adore those people and they are some of the coolest people in the world and I am so thankful that they have accepted me into their family and I'm glad we're friends. Christmas day was a little hectic. We were late to my granny's which OMG we were 5 minutes late and the world was over. Any other time I'm waiting around on everyone else and for once they had to wait for me and holy crapoly. Anyways it was fun regardless. We got to play with the babies and hang out and eat yummy food. Then we went to Cherry Valley for Christmas with the Kosins but we were so tired by then we only stayed for a few hours but it was fun as usual. We didn't get to get together for Thanksgiving because Grandfather was in the hospital so we hadn't seen them all since Labor Day-too long if you ask me. After that we came home got clothes and the dog and drove out to Mom and Jerry's for some early morning shopping with Mom, Sandy and Brandie. 4 o clock came too soon but it was fun. I adore those women and I can't wait until the next time we can all hang out. New Year's eve was intersting to say the least. There were some good parts, some confusing parts (ie waking up with my pants on backward) and some rough things were going on but I'm not really ready to get into that right now but when things settle down I'll fill ya'll in a little bit. Thank you again to Marg and Todd for letting us come and hang out with you and thank you for letting us stay the night. It was an awesome way to welcome the new year and let's hope the good stuff is just a hint of what's to come and the crappy stuff that we've already been through won't carry through the rest of the year.
Things to look forward to-First birthday parties, Spike and Angie's wedding, and life in general. It has been getting better every year so I can't help but be hopeful and anxious for what this one will bring...a new car maybe...fingers crossed
Well back to school next week and I'm sure I'll have more to write about. One of my resolutions is to keep this updated better
Wishing you all the best in life, luck and love. Hope this year brings you all you hoped for and more
