So I just had a wonderful 3 and a half day weekend that started out with the power going out at work on Friday. Usually I would have been dancing in the rain...with an unbrella of course but I actually wanted to get some work done...shocker I know. Then Saturday we went to help fill sandbags cause I would say like 75% of Freeport is under water. 4 hours of filling sandbags and sharing laughs and jokes with a bunch of awesome people made me physically sore and tired but my soul felt alive. It brought to light that there were still people in this world that care about something other than themselves and renewed my faith in the human race. O and it also reminded me that there are still POSs out there that would rather make a situation worse for nothing more than their own entertainment. If you are really so concerned about what is going on then instead of driving by gawking and taking pics get out and help...even if it's just for a min and even if it's for your own selfish need to say you helped. If you want to teach your children a lesson about appreciating what they have and to be more sympathetic then bring em over and hand em a shovel don't stand there and video tape it cause you can turn on the news for that...fruit cup. O it also reminded me of the power of a prayer. If you could have seen the miracles I witnessed that day then you would know what I mean...I still get chills thinking about it. The next two days were super fun. We went to Carpentersville (well we left Saturday night just in case the water got any higher and we got stuck) and hung out with Mom and Jerry, did some shopping and then the 2nd annual Barrington Alumni game. I love going out there to visit them...it's so like chill and good to get away from regular life for a while. The game was awesome too. It was good to see the girls again and it sucks that this is the only time that we really get to see them but it was a good time. I know Sarah had a blast, she misses fast pitch and her high school team mates a lot. I'm already looking forward to next year...

*WARNING* Many of these blogs will leave you wondering...What the hell was the point of that??? I usually don't have one to be totally honest with you and if you don't like it you can exit stage right.
